I’ve been looking into international trade for the UK and collected a few useful resources along the way. Nothing original, just links that might help someone starting out.
Training and courses
Think Sandwell – International Trade – A Typeform questionnaire from the Think Sandwell programme. Seems aimed at businesses in the West Midlands looking to get into export.
Black Country Chamber – International Trade Training – Structured courses on the mechanics of trading internationally. Covers things like documentation, shipping, and compliance.
Black Country Chamber – International Trade – General guidance and resources from the same chamber. Good starting point if you’re based in the Black Country area.
Customs and compliance
- Chamber Customs – A consultancy that seems to specialise in customs procedures. Useful if you’re stuck on post-Brexit import/export paperwork.
Government resources
- HMRC – Importing and Exporting Guidance – Official HMRC page with alerts, videos, and webinars. Not the most exciting read but it’s the primary source for anything regulatory.
Video content
- YouTube playlist on international trade – A playlist covering various trade topics. Worth a watch if you learn better from video than from government guidance.
